When I was young I really wanted to be a primary school teacher, then moved on to wanting to be a maths teacher - that's why I studied Mathematics in college. In the end programming won, and now I'm only teaching as a hobby.
I was very lucky to get the opportunity to do a course at St. Mary's college Galway, called "Introduction to Programming". I'm teaching programming basics to 16 very talented pupils. After many hours spent on deciding what programming language to use, and reading about the experiences of others, in particular Julie, I was still undecided if I should use Python or C++. I decided to use C++ in the end, because it is a language I know, and there would be less surprises because of it. I did however decide also that I must learn Python soon.
